Each of our Lion Heads are traditionally hand crafted by our Master Craftsmen in our production factory located in Southern China.  All are constructed for durability and quality.  Our Lion Heads are constructed in the following manner:

Phase 1

Rattan is used to form the frame of the Lion Head and is bound together with aluminum wiring and rattan strip bindings.  

Phase 2

A 'web/mesh like' material is applied with adhesive to form the primary skin layer.  

Phase 3

A 'textured paperlike' material is applied with adhesive to form the secondary skin layer.  The eyelids of the Lion Head are afixed.

Phase 4

The third and final outter skin layer is applied.  For Sequin Lion Heads, sequin material is used for the third skin layer.  The facial patterns are applied subsequently.

The third and final outter skin layer is applied.  For lacquer painted Lion Heads, the facial patterns are hand painted.

Phase 5

The Lion Heads are now ready for the addition of the ears, eyes, fur, and beard.
